Questions

Small print, big type.

Plans, mana, Auto, publishing, your own keys and servers, and how your data is handled. Every number here comes from the live plans.

Plans and billing

Start free, choose a plan, pay in the app and change it when you need to.

What's free?

The Free plan includes 20 everyday messages a day and 30 mana to try basic images, voice and transcripts. Website previews and source export are included; publishing starts on Plus. No card is needed.

What's in Free, Plus and Pro?

Free: everyday chat and basic creation trials. Plus ($20/month): premium chat, images, basic voice and static-site publishing with 1,200 mana a month. Pro ($60/month): the full toolkit, including frontier models, deep research, video, music, interactive apps and automation. Max has exactly Pro’s tools with more usage and capacity.

Is everyday chat free on paid plans?

Yes. Fast everyday models cost no mana, up to your plan's daily messages. After that, messages use a little mana.

How do I pay and manage my card?

Plans and top-ups are paid in a secure checkout inside Magicx, so you never leave the app. In Settings → Plan and usage you can add or remove cards, update your billing details, see receipts and change or cancel your plan. Card numbers stay with our payment provider.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in Settings → Plan and usage. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, your plan's mana stays usable until then, and you can undo the cancellation before it ends. Plan changes take effect at your next renewal.

Can I get a refund?

If a renewal was charged and you haven't used any of that period's mana, or you haven't started using a top-up, ask us and we'll refund it. Partly used periods and top-ups aren't refunded, except where the law requires. The refund policy has the details.

Mana and usage

What work costs and where your balance goes.

What is mana?

Mana is the unit for paid work: 1 mana = $0.01. Premium models, research, images, video and voice use mana. An image costs from about 1.4 mana and a five-second video from about 32. You see the price before anything starts.

Does unused mana carry over?

On Pro and Max, unused monthly mana carries over for one month. On other plans it ends with the month. Top-ups last 12 months.

Can mana top up automatically?

Yes, if you turn it on. A workspace owner or admin picks a balance, a mana level to refill at, a top-up pack, a saved card, a maximum per purchase and a maximum per month, then confirms. Anything over either limit isn't charged and pauses automatic top-ups. You can turn them off at any time in Settings → Plan and usage.

What happens if a task fails?

Mana is reserved before paid work starts. You pay for delivered media outputs and for text or preparation work already processed; a stopped task or partial result can still have a charge. Your receipt shows the settled amount. Your connected provider account bills its credits separately.

Models, Auto and your tools

Models, Auto, the Studio, your own keys and the apps you connect.

Which models can I use?

59 models across chat, images, video, voice, music and transcription, including Claude, GPT, Gemini, FLUX, Kling and ElevenLabs. The models and settings you can use depend on your plan.

What does Auto do?

Auto picks the model and the tools for each message. Everyday messages go to GPT-6 Luna; long or hard ones to GPT-6.1 Terra. With Auto on, a message can use web search, deep research, the code sandbox, artifacts, images, video or voice, and you can set each tool to Auto, On or Off. Anything estimated over 20 mana asks you first, and you can change that limit.

Can Magicx clean up a noisy recording?

Yes. Studio → Clean voice removes background noise and keeps the speech, for recordings up to 10 minutes. Your original stays as it was. It's on Pro and Max, priced by the recording's length, and you see the price first.

Can I bring my own MCP server?

Yes. In Customize → Connectors you can add any MCP server by its URL, next to the ready-made ones like Notion, Linear, Jira and Confluence. Connected apps are on Pro and Max. Anything that changes your data asks before it runs.

Can I connect Google Drive or Gmail?

They're coming after launch, once Google has reviewed them. Drive will only see the files you pick, and Gmail will only send or save drafts after you approve the exact message. Until then, upload files to a chat and export what you make.

Can I use my own API keys?

Yes, on every paid plan. Add keys in Settings; work that runs on your own keys uses no mana. Your keys are encrypted and only used for your requests. They do not unlock tools or models outside your plan.

Is there an API?

Yes, on Pro and Max. API work is paid from API top-ups and from top-up mana bought in the app, not from your monthly plan mana (Legacy plan mana is the exception). See the developer docs for models, prices and examples.

Apps and publishing

Put what you build on the web, on your own domain, with your team.

Can I publish the apps I build?

Yes. Publish puts a saved version of an app on the web at its own address, with no hosting fee. Publishing starts on Plus; Free includes previews and source export. You can publish 3 apps on Plus and 25 apps on Pro and Max at a time. Monthly traffic per app: 10 GB on Plus and 100 GB on Pro and Max. A site that reaches its limit pauses until the next month; you're never charged for extra traffic. You can roll back to an earlier release or unpublish at any time.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, for published apps. Add a domain you already own in Builder → Publish, then add the DNS records we show you at your domain provider. It goes live once we've confirmed you own it and its secure certificate works. You can connect up to 5 domains per app; you keep your registrar, and we never buy or move domains.

Can my app have a database and its own sign-in?

Yes, for React apps on Pro and Max: 5 apps with a database on Pro and Max. Set it up in Builder → Data. Your app's users can sign in with an email code, and each app's data is kept separate. You decide how your app uses its users' data.

Can my team work on an app together?

Yes. Teammates with access to an app can edit its code at the same time, see who else is there, and review any place where Magicx's changes overlapped with theirs before saving a version. Private chats and their apps stay private.

Teams and workspaces

Shared projects, pooled usage, member controls and seat pricing.

What is a workspace?

A workspace holds its own projects, files, plan, balance and permissions. Your personal workspace is for your own work. A Team workspace lets members use shared projects and a pooled balance. Switch workspaces to choose which project context and balance you’re using; private chats stay private.

How much does a Team workspace cost?

Team seats have a 2-seat minimum. Plus seat: $25 a month or $240 a year billed upfront, adding 1,200 mana a month and 200 everyday messages a day to the shared pool. Pro seat: $70 a month or $720 a year billed upfront, adding 4,500 mana a month and 500 everyday messages a day to the shared pool. An all-Plus team has Plus tools; a currently paid Pro seat unlocks the full toolkit for the workspace. Team checkout is not open; contact us about access.

Does a personal Pro or Max plan include team seats?

No. Personal Pro and Max are individual plans. Max has the same toolkit as Pro with more usage and capacity. A Team workspace is billed by seat, with shared usage, member roles and per-person spending caps. Your personal workspace keeps its own plan and balance.

Privacy, sharing and security

How your work is handled, shared and protected.

Do you train models on my data?

No. We don't use your chats or files to train models. Your content goes only to the model providers needed to answer you. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I share a chat or a file?

Yes. Make a link to a file, or to the part of a chat you choose, and see a preview of exactly what others will see first. You decide whether downloads are allowed, and you can change or turn off the link at any time.

How do I keep my account secure?

Turn on two-step sign-in in Settings → Account and use an authenticator app. Save your recovery codes somewhere safe. Sensitive actions, such as connecting a domain, ask you to confirm it's you again.
